A Commercial Project with a Personal Connection

We specialise in domestic work, that’s where our heart is. Most of our days are spent helping
families across the Wirral extend and improve their homes to grow into for years to come. So when
a commercial project lands on the desk, it usually doesn’t carry the same pull.

But this one was different.

The owners of Empowered Fit are a local couple who genuinely care about what they’re building, not just the profit margins. They wanted quality, connection and a space that inspired their members. And that’s exactly why we took it on.

What We Did

We were brought in as the main contractor to bring the clients’ vision to life, transforming an empty commercial unit into a fully functional, premium independent gym. One of the biggest elements of the project was constructing a 26m x 9m changing and shower block within the unit, thats the same
footprint of five new-build terraced homes.

This facility houses:
• Two saunas
• Two ice bath areas
• Full shower and changing facilities
• A sunbed and sunshower room

We also built:
• A fully fitted reception area
• A staff kitchen space
• Bespoke glass partitions
• Storage areas for equipment, tools, and stock
• A workshop for gym machine repairs
• A new staircase leading to staff quarters
• Two treatment rooms, converted from a large upstairs office

The Process

This project demanded high-level coordination across all trades, with regular client meetings and detailed scheduling at the heart of it all. From plumbing and electrical to joinery, finishes and
HVAC, every moving part was mapped out and managed from start to finish.

Despite the scale and complexity, the job was completed on time in 12 weeks, thanks to a well organised build and a client who stayed engaged and open throughout.

The Result

Empowered Fit Gym isn’t just another commercial space, it’s a gym with a purpose and a personal feel. It was a pleasure to help bring that to life.
